Glory in God

God is the Lord of all things, so when David calls the sons of God, he can refer to all things created by God. In the past, the experience of the Israelites tells us that if we do not give God the glory He deserves, it is easy for people to give glory to themselves, and even mistakenly think that the idols they have created are helping them. Therefore, we must always be grateful, give glory to God, and worship the holy and glorious Jehovah.
In several verses, David describes the glory of God being revealed even in the midst of a storm. Because the voice of God is powerful and majestic, louder than the thunder and the rain. Whether it is a storm in nature or a storm in our lives, as long as we understand the existence of God, we can listen to the voice of Jehovah in the storm and give Him all the glory.
The Bible says: “The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.” (Psalm 29:5) The cedar of Lebanon is a tree with deep historical and cultural significance that grows in the mountains of Lebanon, known for its magnificence and durability. The cedar tree is tall and mighty, evergreen and cold-resistant, and its wood is strong. It is a symbol of natural beauty. However, David described that the voice of Jehovah could break the tree, indicating that no matter how tall, beautiful, or spectacular we are, we must be humble before God, otherwise the proud and arrogant people will be humbled.
The divisions flames of fire describe thunder and lightning, and the Wilderness of Kadesh is located to the south of the land of Canaan. The verse mentioned in the scripture “makes the deer give birth” can also be translated as “making the oak tree shake.” God’s voice is everywhere, whether in the wilderness or in the storm. If we still call the Lord our glory, God must speak out here. Let us know the voice of the Lord in good times and ecognize His voice in bad times. Therefore, unbelievers see only the storms, pain, and difficulties in life, but believers see His glory revealed in them.
God is forever seated on the throne as King, and He remains King even during the floods. The word "flood" specifically refers to the great flood in Noah's time in the original text, symbolising great turmoil and unrest. No matter how the world changes, God is always in control of nature and history, giving His people strength and peace.
Therefore, no matter how dreadful the circumstances, we can rest assured that it is our heavenly Father who is in control. He will allow us to experience the strength He gives us in the storm, help us cope with stress and difficulties, and ultimately enjoy the peace and blessings God gives us and find rest in Christ.
God is always sitting as King, in control of everything!
Both in times of flood and in the storms of our lives. His voice is full of majesty, shaking heaven and earth, and even the strongest cedar tree seems small before Him. We must always be humble, give glory to God, and trust in His sovereignty in all circumstances.
No matter how turbulent the world is, God always gives us strength and peace, enabling us to experience His love and power in the storm, and ultimately enjoy the rest and blessings He has given us in Christ. Let us be grateful in good times, strengthen our faith in adversity, look upon God’s presence, and witness the manifestation of His glory.
