而如今在我们的生命中管理我们的“新主人”就是圣灵,圣灵的作法显然和旧时的作法是不同的。旧条文就是靠人的努力去守住不违反神的规定,违反了就是被定罪。但是在基督的代死与复活则全然不同;
Romans 7: How can we overcome through the Lord

Introduction:
What is the interval from [knowing] to [doing]? The human mind, the human choices and decisions! And this part is the key factor that determines the success or failure of a person.
1. The efficiency of dying and rising with the Lord (V1-6)
The law has a set of standards and requirements, and a person who fails to do so completely is both guilty of breaking the law and condemned to death. But it is only effective for us who are alive; just as a certain criminal was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but a year later the criminal became ill in prison and died, even though he still had 9 years to serve, but the law of conviction was no longer useful for him.
The Scripture is saying that whether a Jew with the law, or anyone who sins, is condemned to death in the condemnation of the law. However, when we believe in Jesus Christ and are baptized, we die and rise with the Lord in this matter (Rom 6:3-5). Since our old self, the sinner, has died with the Lord, we are free from the bondage and freedom of the law of condemnation.
The "new master" who governs us in our lives today is the Holy Spirit, whose works are obviously different from those of the old time. The old law depended on human effort to keep from violating God's rules, and to violate them was to be condemned. But in the substitutionary death and resurrection of Christ it is entirely different.
One is that the old debt is paid and one is free from all the curses of condemnation.
Secondly, one has the grace to confess and repent of one's sins and go forward in the direction of sanctification. When the Holy Spirit shines and there is rebuke, it is God's way of reminding us that we have crossed the line and to turn back quickly. This is where grace works, and man has the opportunity to gradually enter into perfection.
It means that our lifestyles before and after conversion are necessarily different. A new style, a new way of doing things, an easy confession of sin and repentance, and a striving to obey the truth, is a testimony of life growth. What do you have that makes you see the difference in your testimony? This is the life of dying and rising with the Lord, which is living and growing.
2. The Sin of the Old Adam is in Man (V7-13)
Having been raised with the Lord, why is there still the struggle of sin in man?
The commandments reveal the law of God, but the sinful nature manifests the fall of man. The law of God is an exceptionally strong daylight, and when it shines on man, it presents all the dirt, filth, blemishes, and shortcomings of man. And the law of God reveals not only what is visible on the outside, but also what is not visible on the inside of man. Therefore, the Bible says that there is no righteous man, not even one.
God is an absolutely holy and blameless God, and His standard is that all those who have been cleansed and forgiven of their sins should not continue to live in sin, but go on to sanctification. The last verse of this chapter, the last verse of chapter 6, says, "All have sinned--!" What kind of sin is this referring to? The original meaning of the word sin is "missed the target", not up to God's standard. Sin includes those who see and do, those who do not see but think in their hearts, and those who know that God wants people to do but disobey and refuse to do it. In this way, although we are Christians, the nature of the old Adam is still present. We have not become supermen because we believe in Jesus!
This is why Christians are not finished with believing and being baptized, but are constantly facing the trials and tribulations of walking the road to heaven!
3. There are Two Laws at War in Man (V14-23)
We are going to analyze this scripture from the three levels of the soul-body.
1. Our spirit is born of God: Therefore, our spirit desire to get close to God and obedient to God.
2. The flesh is inclined to be carnal: our natural nature follows the flesh.
3. The mind that guides the soul is at war: according to the man in me, this man is even a man of thought, judgment, and choice; in the case of the human soul, we are able to dominate the ultimate choice of the whole man. To tell the whole man to listen to God or to act in obedience to the desires of the flesh?
After we have heard the word, our spirit is to respond to the instructions of the Holy Spirit, so that we may experience a wonderful change. But at this time the flesh tells us many human indulgences, calling us to pursue pleasures and indulgences, and to do whatever we want. At this time the soul which controls our heart and mind is at war. Whom should we listen to? When we are actively pursuing spiritually, it is easy for us to submit our minds to the truth, but when things are up and down and frustrating, we tend to follow the flesh, and as a result we are weak and fallen. This is the Christian's path of spiritual warfare and sanctification.
Conclusion: Victory is in [leaning on the Lord]! (V24-25)
24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
What does it mean to rely on the Lord? To seek the Lord in prayer for help in all things.
How to rely on the Lord? Choose decisions that are in accordance with the truth.
When do you rely on the Lord? When you are faced with any decision.
What is victory? Doing things according to the Word of God.
