1.Obedience and Preparation Amid Lack (v.1–5)
The shortage of wine at the wedding feast was a great shame. Mary brought the need to Jesus. Although He said, “My hour has not yet come,” Mary still instructed the servants to obey His directions—thus preparing space for a miracle.
2.Revelation and Faith Through the Miracle (v.6–11)
Jesus turned water into the best wine, symbolizing the transition from the Old Covenant to the New, and from human effort to divine grace. This miracle revealed His glory and caused His disciples to truly believe in Him.
1.Rebuking the Corruption of Worship (v.13–17)
Jesus drove out those buying and selling in the temple, rebuking them for turning His Father’s house of prayer into a marketplace. This showed His zeal for God‘s holiness and justice.
2.Declaring the Authority of His Resurrection (v.18–22)
In response to the Jews‘ challenge, Jesus said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” He wasn’t just cleansing a physical temple—He was proclaiming Himself as the true temple. His death and resurrection would be the greatest sign and display of His authority.
1.Outward Enthusiasm May Not Be Genuine (v.23)
Though many believed in Him because of the signs He did, their faith was based on miracles—not a true understanding of who He was.
2.Jesus Knows the Hearts of All (v.24–25)
Jesus did not entrust Himself to them because He knew what was in people. His wisdom was not only shown through words and deeds but also through His perfect knowledge of human hearts—He knew who truly believed and who did not.
Today, Jesus is also inviting us—not just to listen to Him, speak of Him, or respect Him, but to respond to Him!
